What is a Barcamp?

Barcamps are open events by the community for the community. They’re all about sharing and learning from each other, which is why there are no attendees, everyone is a participant. Barcamps are technology oriented events, leaning towards software engineering domain and thus are aimed at a specific group of people. The idea is that everyone has something to share, be it their knowledge or skills, experiences, ideas, questions or answers to questions.

I/We have beta invites to our cool new app. Can we do a giveaway?

Yes you can, for sure. You can also get in touch with organizing team and work out an optimum strategy on how best to go about it.

I/We have a cool new app/service. Can I/we do its demo?

If your app/service is something that adds value to the dev community then feel free to demo it but understand that a Barcamp is not a place for you to do sales pitches or product/service promotions. Your demo must not be a promotion/sales pitch but how can the community leverage it, use it. If you want to promote your company/product/service then become a sponsor, get in touch with organizing team. Helping cover the expenses of Barcamp, giving away swag/goodies or beta invites to your app/service – these are the right ways to promote your company/product/service.
